When the quote arrives before anyone has measured your house
A replacement quote often lands the same way: someone walks the house, glances at the old unit, and writes a tonnage on a form. Bigger feels safer, so the number drifts upward. An oversized system short cycles through a Conroe summer, satisfying the thermostat in minutes without running long enough to pull humidity out of the air, so the house ends up cold and clammy at once while the compressor racks up starts it was never meant to see.
The opposite failure is quieter. A system sized from square footage, with ductwork nobody examined, delivers less air than the equipment was rated for, so the coil runs cold, ices, or never reaches the setting. Homeowners then blame the brand when the real problem was a duct run that was undersized when the house was built. Replacing equipment into the same restriction just moves the problem into a newer cabinet.
That is why so many people in Conroe, The Woodlands and Magnolia hold a quote they do not quite trust. Our estimate on a replacement system is free and carries no obligation, and we also offer a same-day second opinion on system install quotes, subject to scheduling and location, so you can set the number you already have beside ours before you commit a dollar to either.

How an install quote gets built at your address
We begin with the house: its heating and cooling load, the layout, the windows that take the afternoon sun, and the attic or closet the air handler lives in. Then the ductwork gets examined, because the duct system decides how much of the new equipment's capacity ever reaches a room. The sizing that comes out of that is a calculation written down for your address, not a number carried over from the last house on the street.
The equipment we install is Comfortmaker, and we service all makes and models, so the brand of the old unit does not matter. Installation is done by NATE-certified technicians. When the new system is running we take the readings a quote can only promise: the temperature split across the coil, the amp draw of the compressor and fan against the new nameplate, static pressure through the ducts, and the refrigerant charge, each one written down.
Jan Dowden's Google review shows the scale of a full job: a replacement of the central air and furnace as well as a new water heater, with four installers on site for less than five hours. Because we hold master plumber licence MPL45324 alongside HVAC licence TACLA 20944C, a water heater going in beside a changeout is one crew and one visit instead of two contractors and two schedules.
After the new system runs: what to hold us to
A new system is only as good as its first month of numbers. The readings we take at startup become the baseline, so the next technician has something to compare against instead of starting cold. If the split drifts, the amp draw climbs against the nameplate, or the static pressure rises, you can see it on paper long before the house feels it in the middle of July.
Financing is available for up to 60 months on approved credit through the Comfortmaker credit card, issued by Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., and it is subject to credit approval. We would rather give you the quote, the sizing and the numbers, and let you decide on your own schedule, than push a signature on the day. A system you can finance sensibly beats one you stretch for.
Skipping the sizing step is how homeowners end up replacing a replacement. Signs it was done wrong include a house that cools in short bursts and feels damp, a unit that starts and stops every few minutes, rooms at the end of the duct run that never catch up, and a bill that does not fall the way the new equipment promised. Our written guarantee on all work, and the readings on paper, are what let us come back and sort it out.

What a customer said
“The team did a very nice job installing the new AC units and their prices were competitive.”
The same-day second opinion
Four things on one table, with your quote beside ours
- Sizing
- A load calculation for your house, not a tonnage carried over from the old unit.
- Ductwork
- Whether the existing duct system can deliver what the new equipment is rated for.
- Equipment
- The make and model on each quote, side by side, with what each includes.
- Price and terms
- The total, what it covers, and the financing option if you want one.
Subject to scheduling and location. If you are weighing a system that also heats, ask about heat pumps; we service all makes and models.
